Kripalu Workshop
The Wisdom of Your Body: Gentle Yoga and Mindful Eating
with Rivka Simmons and Liz Owen
January 2-4, 2011 Sunday - Tuesday
Start the New Year off with a workshop designed to help you cultivate a self-trusting relationship with food, your body, and yourself. All of us are born with a natural, easy connection to our bodies and the food that nourishes them. For many of us, that natural relationship goes awry. We lose touch with our bodies by following external rules instead of trusting inner knowing. This workshop will help you to quiet your mind and become aware of your body, relying on its wisdom for guidance.
You will practice gentle posture sequences, yogic breathing, and meditation techniques to connect with your physical body and your inner self. Through lessons, exercises, and guided meditations, you will learn how to listen to and trust your body's hunger signals, take pleasure in the foods you love, eat mindfully, and respond effectively to emotional eating. You will come away with tools and practices that nurture this compassionate connection with your body so you can sustain a positive relationship with yourself throughout the year.
